Gateway 07:42

It didn't occur to her that the walls would be a death sentence. Without a gateway, a five year plan becomes unreasonable. I tried to shout through the flood of concrete but the river ran too thick. It filled my lungs. My words were melted plastic asleep on the tides. Hush sweet one. Come home now.

The photograph is of the Columbia River Gorge. I wish I could remember exactly where it was shot. It's on the highway headed from Idaho to Seattle. I've stopped at this spot on tour a couple times. It's a 'scenic highway pullout' and it's one of my favorite stops along the road.
