Gateway 07:42

It didn't occur to her that the walls would be a death sentence. Without a gateway, a five year plan becomes unreasonable. I tried to shout through the flood of concrete but the river ran too thick and filled my lungs. My words were melted plastic asleep on the tides of the Mother Continent. Hush, sweet one, and come home now.

The photograph is of the Columbia River Gorge. I wish I could remember exactly where it was shot — it's on the highway headed from Idaho to Seattle. I've stopped at this spot on tour a couple times. It's a 'scenic highway pullout' and it's one of my favorite stops along the road.

Equipment used includes: Strymon BigSky Multidimensional Reverb, Strymon Deco Tape Saturation & Doubletracker, Strymon El Capistan dTape Echo, Red Panda Particle (Granular Delay & Pitch Shifting), DigiTech Luxe, Moog Minifooger MF Delay, American Fender Stratocaster, Yamaha MT120S Four-Track Cassette Recorder, Avid Pro Tools 10.
